MASTERING
UPLOAD/ VINYL
Mastering is the crucial final stage in the process of producing competitive, professional audio - whether it’s a song, a podcast, an audiobook or other media. It involves making subtle enhancements to a finished mix to maximise the overall sound and improve clarity, ensuring it sounds great in every listening environment - the car, the club, the stadium! In contrast to mixing, which deals with multi-tracks or stems, stereo mastering works with the singular finalised two-channel stereo mix file. Mastering enhances the stereo width and depth of a mix, pushing the boundaries of the sonic ‘wall’. With cutting-edge technology, an experienced mastering engineer may take even a lacklustre mix to new heights, cleaning up unwanted frequencies and revealing depth, clarity, movement and space otherwise unrealised.
STEREO MASTERING
We offer high-fidelity stereo Mastering for upload to streaming services or pressing to vinyl. What’s the difference? Mastering for digital and vinyl are two different processes aimed at achieving the best possible listening experience on their respective formats. Vinyl records have physical limitations compared to digital formats. Unlike digital, pushing a master too loud on vinyl can lead to distortion and skipping of the needle. Vinyl can't reproduce the full range of high and low frequencies that digital can. Mastering for vinyl ensures important musical elements stay within the playable range. Mastering for streaming focuses on clarity and consistency across various listening devices like laptop speakers, headphones, and car stereos. Vinyl mastering aims to optimise the sound for the specific characteristics of vinyl while maintaining a warm and inviting listening experience.
